We stopped into town during a highlands bus tour, and this restaurant was just what we needed after a long ride. I had the best fish & chips I’ve ever had here, and the boiled vegetables were all so fresh. There are limited tables and it got busy quickly. I think they flip to the ‘closed’ sign when they’re at capacity. But if you’re lucky you can snag a table! We were there around 1pm.

Used this lovely wee restaurant on numerous occasions for coffee and cream scones.
Suddenly they have stopped making the scones which I’m sure will disappoint not just myself but many others who have enjoyed them in the past. Hopefully they’ll have second thoughts and have them back on the menu soon. 🙏

One of the best meals in the UK so far. Lovely homey atmosphere, amazing service. Had the steak pie (yummy fresh 🫛) and very yummy carrot cake for dessert.

Young waiter was friendly and helpful. Place was nice inside and comfortable. Was disappointed in the steak pie and accompanying gravy . Steak pie was like a steak pie from a butchers...not homemade. Pastry wasn't puff pastry and flaky.

We had dinner at Cottage Reataurant tonight. We agreed that this was the best food we have had since arriving in Scotland. The atmosphere was just perfect, the lady who served us was incredible. She was so knowledgeable about the area and told us all sorts of things never found in a travel guide. The food, the puddings, absolutely incredible. We had coffee to finish and again, so far this trip, this was the best latté I have had. I wish I could give 100 stars!! Try out Cottage Reataurant you will not be disappointed.

This little restaurant is a hidden gem. The food was generous & delicious. A glass cabinet is filled with scrumptious delights, from individual banoffee pies to carrot cake (all home made). We googled restaurants in the area before we got there and read that the restaurant was shut, it was not shut, they have been having issues with Google. So make the effort to find this restaurant, you won't regret it.

Arrived in Inveraray just after 5pm at the end of an afternoon drive from Loch Lomond. We were looking for a casual dinner somewhere - noticed the cottage restaurant as we were walking towards the George Hotel. Sign on door advised it would re open at 5.30pm so after reading the menu called number provided to check if we could book a table for opening time - woman on phone was so pleasant and accommodating. Came out to greet us 5 minutes later. Myself and my husband were so impressed by the freshness of the food and the value for money. We had delicious salads and our 2 kids had chicken nuggets which were clearly homemade using proper chicken breast meat. We each had desserts and were able to take coffees away for the drive home. It was such a hidden gem of a place with a nice relaxed atmosphere. The lady serving in the restaurant was so friendly, kind and thoughtful. She engaged with each table and gave any useful advice she could to help improve their stay in the region. We couldn't have had a nicer evening and will now always come here whenever we're in Inveraray.

Loved everything: food service and decoration!!!! Pictures on the wall are genuine and chosen with taste (not like in too many other places in town). Service was impeccable. Food: fried haggis, cold/hot salmon, venison sausages, special of the day and puddings: glorious dinner! Thank you

Visited with friends. Varied menu, something for everyone .
Jacket potato was so filling that I had to decline cakes, which looked amazing.🥲
